Dr Lei Wang is a Consultant Clinical Oncologist at the Royal Surrey Hospital and East Surrey Hospital specialising in Lower Gastro-Intestinal cancers (including colon/bowel, rectal, and anal) and Gynaecological cancers (including endometrial, cervical, vaginal and vulval). She offers chemotherapy and radiotherapy treatments for all stages of cancer, with a specialist interest in advanced radiotherapy techniques and organ preservation for rectal cancer.

Dr Wang studied medicine at Jesus College Cambridge and Imperial College London where she graduated with Distinction. She undertook general medical and surgical training in West London, followed by Clinical Oncology specialist training at the Royal Marsden Hospital, Charing Cross Hospital and Royal Surrey County Hospital. During this time she obtained Membership of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP) and Fellowship of the Royal College of Radiologists (FRCR).

She completed a postgraduate research degree (MD Res) at the Institute of Cancer Research and the Royal Marsden Hospital working on advanced image-guided adaptive radiotherapy for pelvic cancers, with publications on autosegmentation, machine learning, interfraction organ motion and radiotherapy image quality. She has also published on a wide variety of other cancer-related topics.

Dr Wang is an assistant editor and editorial board member of the academic journal Clinical Oncology. She has a PGCert in Medical Education from the University of Dundee, a series of educational publications (Instant Oncology) in the Clinical Oncology journal as well as a linked Instagram account with the same name. She is a trustee of the BRIGHT charity supporting research into bowel cancer.
